IT'S ABOUT TIME
It's About Time first started singing in February 2009 performing singing valentines. (This seems to be a running thread through a number of quartets for the Cascade Chorus.) While singing valentines is fun, we decided we could have more fun by staying together and singing. We have some 40-plus years of membership between us, and yet, none of us had ever been in a registered quartet! Hence the name of the quartet, It's About Time!
Quartet Members:
Dale LaFon--Baritone
Dale began barbershopping in 2007 with the Cascade Community Christmas chorus, and joined the Cascade Chorus in 2008. He's been a baritone since he joined, but don't let that fool you. He's a better musician than he lets on! Dale started in music early, and has been in numerous musical groups, both vocal and instrumental. In his spare time, he directs the Scandinavian Festival Singers, a post he's had since 2000. Dale lives in Junction City with his wife Lori, who is a Sweet Adeline.
Vic Fitzpatrick--Bass
Vic joined the Cascade Chorus originally in 1982. He took a leave of absence in 1997, stayed away far too long, and finally returned to the chorus in 2007. Vic sang with the chorus when they competed at the International level, and his voice is a welcome addition to the chapter's bass section as well as the quartet. Vic lives in Pleasant Hill with his wife Barbara.
Dan Wolfe--Lead
Dan started barbershopping with the Corvallis Chordsmen in 2002. In 2005, he started making the trip to Eugene, where he's been a solid lead. Dan has an extensive musical background outside of barbershop as well. He started in elementary school chorus, and has been active in several church choirs and worship teams. Dan lives in Corvallis, and is the lone bachelor of the group.
Matthew Crandall--Tenor
Matthew began his barbershop career in 1982, with the Devil Mountain Chorus (Walnut Creek, CA). He has sung with several other chapters including the New Tradition Chorus, where he won 4 silver International Chorus medals, and joined the Cascade Chorus in 2004. He is a certified director with the Barbershop Harmony Society, and is the Assistant Director for the chorus. Matthew is no stranger to music, having started singing in 1970, and partaking in everything from drum corps to being a voice major for two years in college. He lives in Springfield with his wife Deena (who's a Sweet Adeline as well) and two cats.
